Red Flags to Watch For
- Unexpected pop-ups with phone numbers
- Microsoft/Apple/Google will never call you about viruses
- Requests to install AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or similar software
- Demands for payment via gift cards
What to Do If You're a Victim
- Close the browser tab or restart your computer
- Never call numbers shown in pop-up alerts
- Never give remote access to unsolicited callers
- Run your own antivirus scan
